In this work, a topic was developed based on the Pallas P&H and Bucyrus fleet, this fleet due to a large number of contingencies versus scheduled maintenance which has a relatively low reliability, at the same time it translates as an increase in maintenance costs due to the greater number of unforeseen events, in turn generating production losses. This analysis leads to promoting a study to determine the reason for the mentioned scenario, in this study it will be developed using the fleet database. The reliability study was mainly based on Pareto and Jackknife diagrams. First, Paretos were carried out for each team, obtaining very similar results between teams, where the lubrication system appears as the most chronic system in the fleet. Subsequent to the primary Pareto analysis, a lubrication system subsystem analysis is carried out to determine the failure that most affects reliability. These diagrams mainly resulted in the lubrication system as a chronic failure and as a grease lubrication pump subsystem. Open Gear, which directly affects the reliability of the fleet, therefore, the production of the mining company. After carrying out the Pareto analyzes, corroborating the information, we proceed to make the Jackknife diagrams for the entire fleet, as well as in systems such as lubrication. Then it was to carry out an analysis of failure modes and effects, thus determining a method to solve the problem, which results in implementing preventive maintenance to the failure, mainly this failure occurs due to operational conditions, weather conditions and where the machine operates, which does not it can be reasonably improved. After having carried out the analysis of failure modes and effects, it is decided to carry out a Weibull analysis which will allow preventive maintenance to be implemented to the Open Gear grease lubrication pump in a certain time based on the reliability chosen by the company.
