This research proposes a maintenance plan based on RCM to increase the availability of the Komatsu truck fleet in a mining company in southern Peru, pointing out the relevance of heavy machinery for the mining sector. It is important that the equipment has a high availability to operate within the mining company, since, if not, the consequences that it will produce will be negative. Within the mining company of southern Peru, it was detected that the Komatsu 930E electric truck fleet has an incomplete maintenance plan, since scheduled maintenance is carried out in the mechanical area periodically, but the electrical area is not inspected with the same frequency, which has been generating a high number of unscheduled stops and repair costs. It is proposed to prepare a maintenance plan Based on Reliability, taking into account the conditions of the mine and the records collected, so that this plan is consistent with the reality of the company and the equipment. Its effectiveness will be reflected in the stops and failures records kept by the team managers. The research is divided into seven chapters: In the first chapter, it develops the statement of the problem and why it was chosen to carry out this research, as well as the setting of the objectives that they intend to achieve. In the second chapter, the theoretical framework is developed explaining the maintenance concepts and their types, the methodology to be used for the implementation of the RCM and the Monte Carlo simulation system for the verification of results. The third chapter focuses on the development of the research methodology to be used. The fourth chapter will describe the current situation of the open pit mining company in southern Peru, the description of the equipment and its components. In the fifth chapter, the causes and consequences of unscheduled maintenance stops in Komatsu trucks are determined, and the alternative solution is determined, opting for the application of RCM to increase the availability of the trucks. In the sixth chapter, the proposal to apply RCM is disclosed, through the preparation of the information and decision sheet of the RCM, additionally, the programming for its implementation is set. In the seventh chapter, the Monte Carlo simulation method is applied to evaluate the different scenarios that could be presented. Finally, the conclusions and recommendations are presented which specify the need to develop and have a new maintenance plan for the Komatsu 930E truck fleet.
