The general objective of the research is to identify the importance of information and communication according to COSO I in inventory management in the service provider company Corporación Magol SAC in the district of Carabayllo in the year 2020. The research presented a mixed approach using a census sample; in the unit of analysis, the information and communication processes established in the warehouse were considered. Quantitative data collection was carried out using a multiple-choice questionnaire, while for qualitative data, the observation guide was used as an instrument. The instruments were validated by expert judgment. The results showed that the information and communication used in inventory management are not current and therefore do not reflect the status of the materials in the warehouse. Working with obsolete data and transmitting half-heartedly, generating delays in the construction projects and a lack of knowledge of their stock at the moment of elaborating the project. In conclusion, information and communication are essential to reinforce the procedures in inventory management as they allow the company to know the real data about the merchandise that is stored, thus avoiding stock-outs and maintaining adequate stock. All this provides the company with better knowledge about the incoming and outgoing merchandise, and all workers in the area know that information.
