The objective of the research was to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in 4th and 5th grade students of the I.E.P.S. Petronila Perea de Ferrando from the district of Punchana during the year 2018. The method used was quantitative, non-experimental design, descriptive, correlational. The objective population was made up of 145 students of 4th and 5th grade of secondary school, of both sexes, of the afternoon shift. The sample consisted of 100% of the target population ie 145 students, the type of sampling was for convenience and the technique used in the data collection was the survey, the instruments were: the HPV knowledge questionnaire in adolescents (validity 91.07%, and reliability 83.4%), and the scale of attitudes towards HPV in adolescents (validity 90.69%, and reliability 81.1%). The data was analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program. The inferential statistical test was the Contingency Coefficient, with a level of significance of α = 0.05. Results: of 100% (145) of the students, 69.0% (100) presented an attitude of rejection towards the Human Papilloma Virus, of these 44.9% (65) had a medium knowledge level. When performing the statistical analysis, a value of the contingency coefficient CC = 0.061 and p = 0.765> α = 0.05 was found, so the hypothesis is rejected. Conclusion: there is no statistically significant relationship between knowledge and attitude toward the Human Papillomavirus in 4th and 5th grade students of I.E.P.S. Petronila Perea de Ferrando, Punchana 2018.
