The main objective of this research work was to determine the impact of the implementation of process improvement in the mining area on the costs of a mining company in the La Libertad region during the year 2021. In the first chapter, the problem of this industrial sector as well as the causes that led to low productivity in the company's mining area. In the second chapter, the research methodology was set out and engineering tools such as the time study, management indicator system and COLPA were applied. The third chapter showed the results obtained after the application of the engineering tools, these results were positive for the company since a benefit / cost of S / 136.54 was obtained, which generated economic savings for the company S / 1 694 591. In addition, it was possible to increase productivity in the mining area from 0.172 Ounces Au / worker -day to 0.250 Ounces Au / worker-day. Finally, in the last chapter, the results obtained in this research were compared, achieving significant evidence that the application of these engineering tools managed to increase productivity in mining companies. This made it possible to demonstrate the research hypothesis and to be a contribution to future research related to these variables and the industrial sector.
