ABSTRACT This present study was made on Factoría Sanchez S.A.C, a company dedicated to manufacture of brackets, which was aimed to design a Material Requirements Plan and Inventory Management System in order to minimize operational costs related to Inventory management in Factoría Sanchez SAC. Research begins with a diagnosis of the current situation of processes using indicators that determined that unnecessary costs are being incurred by Factoria Sanchez SAC due to an improper technique of programing and production planning and by the lack of an inventory management system. Having identified opportunities for improvement, different tools and methodologies pertaining to industrial engineering were used such as study times, ABC classification, Material Requirement Plan, Job Profile and many others to establish an Inventory Management System. After the application of different tools and methodologies, results are evaluated by recalculating the indicators initially designed in order to have an objective measurement of the perceived benefit. By applying the MRP and Inventory Management System proposed, operational costs reduction is achieved. Finally, MRP and Inventory System results are evaluated through economic and financial tools. Such is the case that the project obtains a positive NPV (S/.50979) and an elevated monthly IRR (29%).
