The objective of this research thesis was to improve the supply management processes of the logistics area, proposing the implementation of function procedures, activity flow, establishing necessary documentation of the area and evaluating suppliers with a supply planning; developed in the metalworking company Grupo Sefeme, thereby reducing costs and having a better planning of activities, located in the city of Metropolitan Lima, with a presence in important projects nationwide. The general objective is to determine the reduction of supply costs, develop an improvement proposal and its implementation in the management of the logistics department, using analysis tools focused on continuous improvement, time optimization and supply planning. To achieve this, the working methodology initially presented the theoretical framework approach related to purchasing and supply management, adding quality tools. Then, the study focuses on the analysis of the current situation of the processes with which the logistics area was developing. Analyzing the times of each sub-process of purchasing management, identifying with Pareto, Ishikawa and DAP analysis; amount of time spent on purchase order generation delays, purchase order approvals, and vendor delivery delays. Afterwards, each point was developed with proposals for improvement in the implementation of procedures, activity flowcharts, process formats and evaluation of current suppliers. Next, it was proposed with the expected results with the training, implementation of policies and achieving a supply planning with better conditions.
