ABSTRACT The Institute of Mining Engineers of from Peru (hereinafter IIMP) is a private non profit, governed by its statute. It is made up of professionals, technicians, individuals or domestic legal or foreigners who develop mining activities or related to the mining industry in the country. Also, in an effort to contribute to sustained and academic growth of the mining sector and its partners respectively, the IIMP organized for more than 70 years different events like PERUMIN, PROEXPLO, Mining Management, Community Relations, among others. Due to the growth of its various events and services, it has a basic IIMP in-house system that lacks tool to optimize processes. Moreover, the lack of procedures and controls in the application and its requirements generated attention on costs in procurement and inventory. The improvement is based on the implementation of a standard to improve the management and control of procurement, aimed at reducing costs and optimizing time and resources. The standardization process is guided by the ISO 9001: 2015 and is based on the DMAIC methodology, which contains a number of phases which includes different tools like SIPOC, Flowchart, 5W1H, among others, which will raise and run improving the process for the benefit of the institution.
