ABSTRACT The following thesis consist of the identification of the main causes that lead to the inventory overhead and the stock break in the process of planning of purchases of a company of flexible packaging with 12 years in the market of Peru. Afterwards we will use tools that help use to optimize the process and improve the stock level. The following manufacturing company has developed a fast growth in the last years in sales subjects; this is because it belongs to a group of companies that endorses it financially. Being part of a large conglomerate and having economic solvency has concentrated on having the latest technology to maximize production. However, it had left aside the issue of supplying material and inputs, which plays a very important role in the manufacture of the final product and the business profits. In chapter three, we will analysis how the company is doing with relation to the inventory overheads and stock break points. Then we will identify by Pareto the most relevant points and the proceed to identify with Ishikawa the most influential causes. Them, after the analysis, we will apply the tools of the “5W-2H” to take a plan of action and to solve the identified causes. Them, we will quantify and project it through comparison of what was initially found to improve the proposed ones.
