ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to establish the relationship between the process of development of people and job performance of workers in a hotel company in the city of Cajamarca in 2016. In the theoretical framework some background presented internationally, national and local, as well as some thoughts on the process of development of people and job performance. This research is a descriptive - correlational. The sample consisted of 60 workers of the hotel firm in the study, who were applied questionnaires Process development of people and work performance respectively for this pilot test was carried out and subjected to the test of consistency across the Cronbach's alpha, obtaining a reliability of 0.8585 compared to people development process and 0.8504 concerning work performance, indicating that it is a reliable instrument. The first explores the variable development process of people understood as the organizational investment in its staff according to indicators such as number of ongoing training, career level, education level, number of job rotation, level of adaptability to change , number of feedback data and possibility of solving problems in the area. The second explores the work performance variable, understood as the way in which an employee carries out its activities in office, associated with indicators such as level setting goals, number of rewards, satisfaction, skill level, level of commitment to the goal, number of feedbacks, level of complexity of the task, level of relevance of activities, level of effort, level of persistence and number of strategies the task. Finally, the results conclude that the development process of people has a direct and significant relationship to job performance of workers of a hotel company in the city of Cajamarca in 2016, the same as evidenced by test Pearson resulting in a coefficient of 0.516, showing a significance of 0.000.
