Maize is one of the crops of importance for the feeding of animals that provide meat, as well as for human nutrition on a national and world level; in some provinces of the San Martin region their yield potential and adaptability are unknown. The objective of the research was to evaluate the adaptability of six hybrid cultivars of hard yellow corn "(Zea mays) compared to the variety Marginal 28_Tropical, under the edaphoclimatic conditions of the district of Tocache. It was carried out in Veintenjebe in the District and province of Tocache from November 2017 to March 2018, in sandy clay loam soil with pH 4.8, Average temperatures with 25.46%, precipitation 286.20 mm per month, was developed under the design of Completely Random Block. The Atlas 105 hybrid with lower plant height (1.84 m), lower ear height (0.93 m), greater grains weight per ear (165.81 g), higher kernels number per row (37.29); greater weight of 1000 seeds (360 grams) and the highest yield (10 075.41 kg.ha-1), surpassing all treatments and therefore showed the best adaptability; followed by the DK 7508 and INIA 624 hybrids with yields of 8247.67 and 7 921.03 Kg / ha; all the hybrids had early flowering because the appearance of 50% of the male flowering fluctuated in an interval of 2.18 days apart than the Marginal variety 28 - T.
