In developing countries such as ours, rapid population growth threatens the socio-economic development and well-being of the nation. One of the ways to reduce population growth is through the adequate application of family planning, in Peru there is a high percentage of unmet demand for family planning; Which causes unwanted pregnancies, with an increase in the maternal mortality rate, a large part of which is due to induced abortions. In Family Planning, one of the most commonly used contraceptive methods is the Intrauterine Device (IUD). It was invented early in the 20th century, but its use became widespread until the 1960s with the appearance of devices that did not contain copper or hormones and were known Such as "Non-Medicated" or inert devices such as the ASA DE LIPPES. Then biodegradable IUDs appeared with hormones, copper and / or silver. There are currently IUDs with hormone-releasing "T" variations, which are not being used in family planning programs.
