The purpose of this research project was to study the behavior of rice husk and rice husk ash (CCA) with respect to the physico-mechanical properties of concrete in the field of construction, in such a way that it contributes to the environmental care. The cement was replaced by rice husk and rice husk ash (CCA) in three percentages that were: 8%, 12% and 16% with respect to the total cement mass of the mix design, thus determining the different behaviors of the samples. The tests of settlement in the fresh concrete and of compressive strength of the cylindrical specimens were carried out under the guidelines of the ASTM and NTP standards. According to the final results of the project the validity of the use of rice husk ash (CCA) in the substitution of cement was determined, proposing as an optimal percentage the 8%, which obtained a final resistance of 231 Kg / cm2.
