The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the perceived emotional intelligence of adolescents who practice Skateboarding and the assessment of the neighborhood. The study followed a descriptive correlational design. We worked with 150 members of the Urban Tribes Skaters subgroup, male adolescents from 13 to 16 years old who practice Skateboarding. The instruments used in the study were the Salovey and Mayer Scale for the Evaluation of Expression, Management and Emotion Recognition and the Neighborhood Valuation Scale from Oliva, Morago and Parra. (2009). The results show that there are 30.7% of those evaluated who have an adequate perception of their emotional attention and an average level of evaluation of the neighborhood; Regarding emotional clarity should improve their understanding even when they present an average level of assessment of the neighborhood 37.3%. Finally, there is an adequate regulation in the emotional repair with an average valuation level of the neighborhood in the 52.7% of the members of the urban skate tribes practicing Skateboarding. On the other hand, there is no correlation between the two variables at a general level, but there is relationship in their indicators and dimensions such as attachment to the neighborhood and emotional attention (r = - .271**); emotional clarity (r = .248**) and emotional regulation (r = .309**); also in youth empowerment and emotional clarity (r = .239**).
