Academic literature on the practice of Corporate Social Responsability (CSR) has increased around the world. The following research seeks to determine the level of influence of CSR on the consumer behavior of Peruvian women towards coffee in Lima Metropolitana. This study was conducted under the discrete choice model methodology in order to quantify effects of CSR actions on purchase intention and willingness to pay. Fieldwork was conducted using a convenience sample of 132 female coffe consumers from Lima aged 18 to 24. Results provide evidence of the positive relationship between CSR and the purchasing decision of consumers. This thesis is an extension of Professor Percy Marquina’s doctoral research, The Influence of Corporate Social Responsibility on the Buying Behavior of Peruvian Consumers (CENTRUM, Business Center of the Ponticia Universidad Católica del Perú, Lima 2009). At the same time, this research seeks to validate whether the relationship identified in Professor’s Marquina’s study is applicable to coffee consumption. With Professor Marquina’s permission we have used excerpts from his thesis, particularly those regarding literature review and methodology.
