Postpartum depression is a debilitating mental disorder with a high prevalence, therefore, the present work aims to determine the obstetric, psychological and social risk factors associated with postpartum depression in puerperal women treated in a hospital in Iquitos, during the months of February. -March 2020. An observational, analytical and longitudinal study was conducted in 250 patients, to whom the data collection form and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale were applied. The risk factors were established by means of the Chi-square statistic (X2) and those that presented statistical significance (p <0.05) the relative risk was determined. It was determined that at 24 hours 39% of the patients presented postpartum depression and that 42% of the patients presented postpartum depression at 7 days. Obstetric risk factors were identified such as having presented more than 2 pregnancies, having a history of abortion and not having the adequate number of prenatal controls; the psychological risk factors identified were having difficulty concentrating, not having a planned pregnancy and not having the emotional support of the couple; the social risk factors identified were being under 18 years of age or over 35 years of age, having only primary school education, not having work activity, not having financial support from the couple and not having financial support from family members present a statistically significant association with postpartum depression (p <0.05)
