The purpose of the thesis was to determine the profile of the local tourist and their motivations to travel to the three borders: Santa Rosa, Leticia and Tabatinga from the city of Iquitos, 2019, the study achieved the objectives in which the three types were established of motivational indicators such as: the escape from the routine, the search for new things or circumstances and the desire to carry out different activities. According to the applied methodology, the Research is quantitative and not experimental. It is applied and transversal, because the variables were measured only once. According to the data collection it was retrospective research. The sample consisted of 83 surveys which were stratified by sex corresponding to men 54 and women 29. The hypothesis showed high motivational statistical significance for the local tourist, thus, out of 15 indicators, 10 of them reach a very high statistical percentage. significant whose average is (63.97%) compared to negative responses on average (38.78%); therefore, the descriptive hypothesis is accepted.
