The present investigation was carried out with the objective of determining the weight, height, the body mass index, dietary habits with the nutritional status in the users at the beginning, at 3 months and at six months of use of the medroxyprogesterone acetate of the Posta I - 2 Masusa from Iquitos from July to December 2017. Taking as a methodology a quantitative, non-experimental approach, correlational descriptive design and longitudinal cut, being the sample of 80 users of medroxyprogesterone acetate, where inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied before carrying out the surveys and nutritional status of users, the sampling that was applied was randomized randomly. We used data collection techniques through the application of food consumption frequency cards, 24-hour reminder and nutritional status assessment by means of anthropometric measurements of weight, height and BMI, as well as the abdominal perimeter of each patient with the help of specialized instruments that offered maximum safety and precision in the results. It is concluded that the body mass index at the beginning of the investigation was normal with a total of 56 users, 23 users had a BMI of overweight and 1 single user with obesity of the ages of 20 to 39 years. The increase in weight was increased according to the time of use, it was evidenced that the great majority of BMI increased in 3 and 6 months in overweight and obesity. Also, the eating habits were alarming data because they showed that as the use of the hormone did not present a healthy diet for most users. Therefore, we conclude that the use of medroxyprogesterone acetate in users of post 1 - 2 Masusa has a significant relationship between the nutritional status and the use of acetate, nutritional status and dietary habits and nutritional status and abdominal perimeter being the value of bilateral significance p = 0, 000.
