This research was made between 2008 – 2011 period, plus data colected by the researchers in 2012, in Rescue Center of Manatees from ACOBIA–DWA ZOO, located in AQUARED, Iquitos-Nauta Highway, km. 4.5, Quistococha, District of Saint Juan Bautista, Province of Maynas, Department of Loreto, to determine the influence of diet on growth during the Trichechus inunguis captive "Amazonian manatee". Individuals were grouped according to diet: infants (ML), mixed (MM) and non-lactating (MNL). Weight and length were evaluated. The following results ML the won growth rate to 11% per month; MM won for 7% per month and MNL the won 3% per month during the study. Consumption rate ML 1.06 ± 0.04 liters of milk per day; MM then went 0.69 ± 0.04 liters of milk and 11.61 ± 0.58 kg of Pistia stratiotes "Huama" per day, and fed MNL then went 35.24 ± 0.72 kg of P. stratiotes "Huama" by day. Weight gain, for ML they need 13 liters of milk to gain 1 Kg; for MM they need to 5 liters of milk and 117 kg of solid food for winning 1 Kg; and MNL they need to 440 kilograms of solid food for winning 1 kg. Growth rate by comparing values of TCE significant (df = 2, 29; p = 0.0004 F = 11.74) were found. The analysis of multiple comparison with Tukey, reports significant differences in all age groups (p <0.05).
