The objective was to determine the association between knowledge and practice in the prevention of more frequent accidents at home: falls, burns and poisoning, in adults with children under 5 years of age. Human Settlement Nuevo Versalles, of the City of Iquitos - during the year 2017 The method used was the quantitative and the non-experimental design of correlational and transversal type. The population was 74 people. The sample conformed was 67 people assigned by means of stratified probabilistic sampling with proportional affixation. The techniques were the interview and the observation, the instruments were: The questionnaire on prevention of accidents in the home (Validity 91.72% and reliability of 89.22%, and a Guide to observation of accidents in the home (Validity 91.43% and reliability of 88.93 % The data were analyzed with the SPSS 22.0 program, the inferential statistical test was Chi square, with α = 0.05 and 95% confidence level, the results are the following: Results: At the level of knowledge about accident prevention in the home of 100.0% (67) adults 88.0% (59) had satisfactory knowledge, in the accident prevention practices in the home of 100.0% (67) adults 82.1% (55) had prevention practices Inadequate home accidents Conclusion: Non-significant results were obtained (p = 0.577), so the research hypothesis is rejected: There is a significant statistical association between knowledge and practice. practice in prevention of more frequent accidents at home: falls, burns and poisoning, in adults with children under 5 years old Human Settlement Nuevo Versalles, from the City of Iquitos
