The modern company must perform an efficient management of costs and inventories, both of finished products and inputs. A high stock implies immobilized and idle economic and financial resources, which causes the company to incur high financial and maintenance costs. Conversely, a low stock of inputs can jeopardize immediate attention to orders, and could even slow down the production. Both situations have a direct impact on the operating results of the company, therefore, the optimal management of inventories is of vital importance. The objective of this master's thesis was to determine the relationship between the costs of production and profits of the company Triplay Martín SAC., in the period 2011 - 2015. For this, the present investigation was carried out of the Correlational type and of Non- Experimental design, analyzing the statistical significance and the determination of the Independent Variables (production cost) in the Dependent Variable (company's profits). After the analysis and discussion of the results, it was found that there is an inverse relationship between the Production Costs and the Utility of the company, as demonstrated by the Correlation Coefficient (r) = -0.84305707; value very close to -1. Also, the higher cost of the company is concentrated in "Other Indirect Manufacturing Expenses", which is equivalent to 22.70% of the total cost of the period under study. On the other hand, the point of equilibrium between Sales and Production Costs is reached when 3,500 M3 of plywood are produced.
