Introduction: This procedure is the 2nd most obstetric-gynecological surgery performed worldwide. We intend to analyze the relationship between sexual dysfunction and hysterectomy. Methods: A cross-sectional, analytical case-control study was applied in patients of the gynecology service of the Regional Hospital of Loreto to evaluate the sexual function and quality of life of patients who underwent Hysterectomy for benign pathology in 2016 and 2017. The evaluation of sexual function was evaluated with the Feminine Sexual Function Index, an instrument that is used worldwide and by the Consensus and Association of Gynecology is the most recommended. The test was applied to 66 cases and compared to the results of the same survey in 88 controls in the same way the survey of SF 12v2 was applied. Results: In this study there was no significant difference in the sexual function of women without or with Hysterectomy (p => 0.905). Much less difference between women with or without sexual dysfunction in relation to education, age, type of Hysterectomy, approach. Conclusions: those that most frequently affect are the variables in women who suffer sexual dysfunction after having been hysterectomized, those that frame the personal nor the quality of life was affected. Post-hysterectomized patients however had a higher prevalence of Sexual Dysfunction compared to controls
