In this research work on management information systems was carried out within the Administration Management of the District Municipality of San Jerónimo, mainly in the Unit of Accounting, Treasury Unit, Supply and Warehouse Unit, Staff Unit and Patrimonial Control Unit, with the objective of describing the use of the management information system, so that it has been used as a reference of the five main components for the success of a management information system of which: resource of persons, resource of hardware, software resource, data resource and network and telecommunications resource. The type of research is basic, with a non-experimental design quantitative approach and descriptive scope, the technique used for data collection was the survey, the instrument that was used for the final examination of the questionnaire and the results were processed in the system statistical SPSS. The results of the investigation show that for 51.7% of the surveyed personnel the use of the management information system is inefficient, while for 27.6% of the respondents indicate that the use of management information systems is efficient; Likewise, it was observed that the dimensions such as: Human resource that reflects that the performance with respect to the use of GIS is not very efficient with 44.8%, while 41.4% of the respondents rate as efficient, the hardware resources obtained an inefficient rating with 58.6% while 27.6% of respondents indicate that it is efficient; software resources obtained a rating of 51.7% while 37.9% of respondents indicate that software resources are efficient; Likewise, 51.7% of respondents indicate that data resources are not very efficient, while 31% of respondents indicate that data resources are efficient and lastly, they have the network and telecommunications resources that obtained a rating of inefficient with 55.2% while 41.4% of respondents indicate that the use of network and telecommunications resources are deficient.
