The objective was to identify the level of risk of addiction to social networks in the students of the professional School of Nursing of the Andean University of Cusco 2017. A cross- sectional and descriptive design study was carried out in probabilistic sample of 83 students from the 1st to the 9th semester, enrolled in specialty subjects. Regarding the general characteristics of the students of the professional School of Nursing, it was identified that 92.8% are female, 39.8% are 20 to 22 years of age, one third (34.9%) of students is studying between V to VII Academic semester. The majority of students (90.4%) are of urban origin. According to the residence of the students are from different districts of the city of Cusco. With regard to the most preferred social network among students, WhatsApp obtained a 56.7% preference; He followed Facebook with 35.1%, among others. As for the level of addiction to social networks: in the dimension “obsession with social networks“ a level of risk of addiction is averaged with 49.4%. With regard to the dimension “lack of personal control by the use of social networks“ the level of risk addiction prevails average with 56.6% and in terms of the dimension “excessive use of social networks“ predominates the level of risk of high addiction with a 51.8%.
