The present work deals with the comparative analysis between superficial foundations designed by the Methods of Admissible Pressure and Limit States according to the characteristics of the soil where the “Institution Educational Initial Level Inicial N ° 883 Of The Community Of Minascucho - Challhuahuacho District - Province De Cotabambas Departament Of Apurímac “, The design of superficial foundations has traditionally been carried out by the admissible pressure method, which applies great safety factors to guarantee“ conservative “designs by resistance. That generally said factor adopts a value of 3. Consequently, the Limits States method is a design method in which the acting loads are increased and the soil resistances are reduced multiplying by factors of increase and reduction, respectively. In this method the foundations are dimensioned so that the major acting loads are less than or equal to the minor soil resistances. This difference in the use of the factors in the process of geotechnical design of the foundation by each of the mentioned methods, makes the difference, demonstrating us in the results obtained in the present investigation. It is known that each type of foundation designed by one method and another has a different execution budget, therefore they have different dimensions and characteristics which helped us determine the advantages of a foundation designed by the Limit States method. It should be noted that the present investigation focuses on the Ultimate Limit State (stability and resistance).
