This research is located in the city of Cusco and aims to identify the efficiency of the filtration process in the Treatment Plant of Santa Ana – Cusco, which fits in more detail to what is established by the National Building Regulation (RNE) in the estándar OS.020 Water Treatment Plants fot Human Comsumption, for this purpose these values were calculated according to the turbity data obtained form the water before and after the filters. To determinate the efficiency of the filtration process, turbity data whithin the filters were taken into account, before entering the filters, when leaving the filters – befores entering the reservoir. In order to have more knowledge of the operation and the filters operation and the filtration process, the funcionality and operation documents the PTAP were used, which were provided by the EPS SEDACUSCO. The months chosen within the investigation were representative acconrding to the meteorological state of Cusco. With the data obtained from the plant, the percentage of efficiency, that has been evaluated by a formula provided by the regulation of the RAS 2000 Drinking wáter and Basic Sanitation Sector Regulation, these results will be evaluated and compared with the parameters provided in the OS.020 and the aforementioned RAS 2000. The results of this evaluation provides us that, during the months with abundant rainfall, the Santa Ana – Cusco PTAP does not meet the parameters established by the estándar bacause the turbidity is abundant so the efficiency of the filter is reduced. In conclusión, the values obtained from the data processing vary according to the meteorological state of Cusco.
