The thesis entitled “Validation tool Pentaho as Business Intelligence solution for hospital management in the emergency area in EsSalud“ is structured in five chapters: General Aspects, Theoretical Framework, and Methodology of research, research results and finally Discussion. More precisely, one can say that the first chapter General aspects, is clearly geared to serve as na basis for starting, providing the current status of research to be done, the problem formulation which briefly explains that the Emergency Department of EsSalud not uses the Business Intelligence as an alternative for decision-making, service which should make decisions more accurately and in the shortest time possible, in addition also described what are the objectives, assumptions, variables and justification research to be done. The second chapter Theoretical Framework provides a theoretical plotted on hospital management, business intelligence and Pentaho. For research to be done is necessary to have accurate knowledge of the subjects mentioned above; It is important to know how the hospital management to know how are the decision-making and what the critical processes in which it is important to make the decision are faster. This chapter also describes all about the Business Intelligence: evolution, characteristics, and stages of a BI process, benefits and concepts related to Business Intelligence. Plus all also details on Pentaho, the packages offered to Business Intelligence solution, the benefits offered and also discloses the differences and similarities between Pentaho and other BI tools. The third chapter Methodology, part of the need to inform the general approach of this research and the presentation of the different methodological strategies used. Throughout the research process described from design to the methodological criteria considered. Different strategies of data collection are also described. The fourth chapter Results, results are presented from both a descriptive and eminently interpretive perspective. Indeed, it is to present the results of research, and therefore the results that have been considered relevant throughout the entire process of creation and recreation of the analysis and interpretation of data. Discussion The last chapter is dedicated to the hiring of ideas between the research and ackground used. The research concludes with the Conclusions and Recommendations, where the conclusions found by the different methodological tools presented. Also necessary it is also drafts recommendations, these recommendations through those complications during the investigation was performed.
