Evaluación tomográfica de pacientes con tratamientos endodónticos que acuden a la Clínica Estomatológica Luis Vallejos Santoni, Cusco en el periodo 2018-2019

Abstract

Objetivo: El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación es explicar la evaluación tomográfica

de pacientes con tratamientos endodónticos que acuden a la Clínica Estomatológica Luis Vallejos Santoni, Cusco en el periodo 2018- 2019. Material y métodos: El presente trabajo de investigación es no experimental de tipo observacional, descriptivo, cuantitativo y es retrospectivo. El universo de tomografías fue de 500, de las cuales 276 presentaban tratamientos endodónticos. La población estuvo conformada por 556 piezas dentales con tratamientos endodónticos que fueron evaluadas tomo gráficamente tanto del maxilar superior como inferior, se aplicó una ficha de recolección de datos para las variables de calidad de obturación y manifestaciones tomográficas, la cual fue validada según juicio de expertos, la evaluación tomográfica se realizó utilizando una laptop, donde se instaló el software IRYS Viewer en el que se realizó los cortes respectivos para realizar el estudio y obtener resultados de frecuencia y porcentajes. Resultados: En la evaluación tomográfica se encontró con respecto a la calidad de obturación de las 276 piezas dentarias, lo siguiente; el mayor porcentaje presentó una calidad de obturación correcta (77.5%) y el menor porcentaje presentó una calidad de obturación inaceptable (22.5%), el mayor porcentaje evidencio la presencia de manifestaciones tomográficas (51.3%) y el menor porcentaje presentó ausencia (48.7%). El mayor porcentaje de piezas evaluadas fue para el maxilar superior izquierdo (37.2%). Conclusiones: Las piezas evaluadas tomo gráficamente presentaron en su mayoría una calidad de obturación correcta y con un mayor porcentaje de manifestaciones tomográficas del engrosamiento del espacio periodontal.

Results: In the tomographic evaluation, the following was found regarding the filling quality of the 276 teeth; the highest percentage presented a correct quality of obturation (77.5%) and the lowest percentage presented an unacceptable quality of obturation (22.5%), the highest percentage showed the presence of tomographic manifestations (51.3%) and the lowest percentage presented absence (48.7% ). The highest percentage of pieces evaluated was for the left upper jaw (37.2%). Conclusions: The pieces evaluated tomographically presented mostly a correct filling quality and with a higher percentage of tomographic manifestations of the thickening of the periodontal space.
