Informed consent does not receive adequate appreciation from health users and professionals, who perceive it as a formality rather than as a fundamental ethical and legal pillar. This research focuses on describing and analyzing the importance of the use of informed consent in physical therapy and rehabilitation professionals of the Lambayeque Department. The study, of a qualitative nature with a descriptive interpretive approach, included the participation of 23 registered and competent professionals in this area. This sample was obtained through saturation and redundancy, using a non-probabilistic sampling method. The data were collected through semistructured interviews in a virtual environment, previously validated by experts and subjected to a pilot test. The information collected was processed through manual content analysis; Furthermore, the study respected the criteria of ethical and scientific rigor. As results, three main categories emerged: A.- Perspective of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation professionals on informed consent. B.- Importance given to informed consent by Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation professionals. and C.- Requirement of a specific format for Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation professionals. Among the main results, it was found that informed consent reveals the patient's right to be duly informed, with respect to their self- determination as a key element that allows them to grant consent based on the trust and security provided by medical professionals.
