The present work entitled Attitude towards mathematics and academic performance in students of the 3rd grade of secondary education of the Educational Institution "Augusto Cazorla" of the Callao Region, had the general objective of establishing the relationship between Attitude towards mathematics and the academic performance in the students of the 3rd grade of secondary education, the hypothesis was raised: The relationship that exists between the attitude of the students towards the area of Mathematics and the academic performance in the students of the 3rd grade of secondary education of the IE “Augusto Cazorla” from the Callao Region, is positive and significant. The research had as methodology, quantitative approach, descriptive method, substantive type, descriptive level, correlational design, the sample was 90 students of the 3rd grade of education, to whom an attitude questionnaire towards Mathematics was applied and for each one From them, their grades were obtained from the record of grades of the first two quarters of study that work in the academic subdirectorate of the educational institution The hypothesis test was carried out using Spearman's Rho and it was found that: there is a positive, high and significant relationship between the attitude of students towards the area of Mathematics and academic performance (p <0.05 and Spearman's Rho = 0.847 considerable positive correlation)
