In Peru, during the COVID-19 pandemic and the curfew time, it was obtained that 28.5% of respondents indicated presenting depressive symptoms, of this subgroup, 41% of the participants showed symptoms associated with moderate depression and severe; and 12.8% reported suicidal thoughts. Therefore, it is suggested that depression is in all phases of the disease and treatment, even more post-pandemic. The psychometric properties of the Peruvian version of the questionnaire on patient health (PHQ-9) were analyzed with a sample of 33,613 people, obtained from a secondary database of the ENDES 2019. The methodology is of a non-experimental basic level and with instrumental design. The results indicate good quality of the items (IHC> .30, Id <0.05 and h2> .50) with the capacity to measure the same construct and differentiate people with different levels of depression. A two-dimensional factorial model (somatic and cognitive) with adequate goodness of fit was identified (RMSEA = .097; CFI = .932; NFI = .932; TLI = .906). In addition, a high level of reliability was obtained (ω = .892). Finally, the percentile norms were achieved with 5 levels to measure depressive symptoms.
