At present, business competitiveness is becoming more important, which is why management competencies are essential because they help companies grow and become more competitive; therefore, administrators or managers must take into account management competencies, among which are conflict management competencies, communication competencies, leadership competencies, motivation and teamwork. Likewise, if these competencies are adequately developed, they will help organizations to meet their objectives and be more competitive in the market. The main objective of the research was to determine the existence of the relationship between managerial competencies and competitiveness of micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the textile industry of Gamarra, 2021. As for the methodology used for the development of the study, it was through a quantitative approach, the design of the work was non-experimental; likewise, the research was cross-sectional, the type of information was retrospective research and correlational in scope. The sample was 364 textile companies in Gamarra, however, due to the lack of research support culture, 61 surveys were obtained; however, the statistical power analysis was carried out through the G-Power software. Then, the survey was used as a technique and the data was collected through the questionnaire. Once the data had been collected, the information was collected. From the Pearson correlation statistical tests a result of 0.569 was obtained, this result showed that managerial competencies and competitiveness have a moderate positive relationship according to the scale of Hernandez et al., (2014). Finally we can conclude that all dimensions of managerial competencies have a positive relationship.
