The general objective was to construct and determine the evidence on the validity and reliability of the Inventory of Ethical Commitment in Teachers (ICE). The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive of an evaluative nature. The sampling was non-probabilistic of an intentional type and the sample consisted of 401 teachers, men and women, aged 25 to 60 years, and from public educational institutions. Among the main results, it was found that the ICE is made up of two dimensions: Justice and Compassion, which each contain 6 indicators and a total of 54 items. Presents evidence of content-based validity (Aiken's V coefficient for each dimension of Justice and Compassion of .96). The validity based on the internal structure was found through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). For Justice the factor loadings ranged from .47 to .76, and for Compassion they ranged from .43 to .77. The evidence of reliability by internal consistency was calculated by means of the omega coefficient (for Justice it turned out that ω = .92) and (for Compassion, ω = .94), which indicate that the ICE presents a very good reliability. The implications of the results have been discussed.
