The Santa Este mine of the Izcaycruz Unit of Empresa Minera Los Quenuales produces 3,000 TMD with Surface Exploitation Method is projected to deepen it with an Underground Exploitation Method; For this reason, to achieve its objectives, it requires an adequate ventilation system, currently through the proper construction of ventilation chimeneas in strategic locations, selection and location of main and secondary fans to send fresh air to work areas where equipment congestion Heavy and light will generate a ventilation deficit. The objective of this thesis is to design the ventilation system of the mine for future production. The methodology used is the modeling of the ventilation system through the specialized software Ventsim Visual Advanced that the company has with which we will simulate alternatives for improving the ventilation of the Santa Este mine. Field measurements and modeling of the ventilation network are carried out, always complying with what the standard dictates regarding minimum ventilation requirements in underground mines. In that sense, the Santa Este mine will need: ➢ For staff: 138 m3 / minute (4873 cfm) ➢ For equipment: 1,571 m3 / minute (55,482 cfm) ➢ For the dissipation of firing gases: 1,547 m3 / minute (54,620 cfm) Therefore, the necessary requirement for fresh air flow for the operation of Mina Santa Este is 114,975 CFM, for which two 120,000 CFM Exhaust Fans will be acquired located in the Central Bocamina and another 60,000 CFM located in the Chimney of Extraction in the Extraction Tunnel, both Airtec brand.
