In the present work the efficiency of a cogeneration system to reduce costs is evaluated and analyzed, taking the cause - effect relationship of the variables: “Cogeneration System“ and “Reduction of energy costs“ of a textile industry, being found in the ARIS plant of our investigation that the facilities available to it constitute a relevant energy center in the form of steam, hot water, thermal oil and electric energy (2MW). ARIS intends to incorporate a high efficiency cogeneration plant in its facilities, in order to take advantage of the advantages offered by this technology in terms of both energy efficiency and economic savings, providing a more competitive industrial process. In view of this situation, in the present investigation, in view of the need for economic savings and to cover its total electric energy demand and future expansion of the textile plant, a survey of cogeneration alternatives with plants of different sizes has been carried out (2 - 3.3 MW) with simple cycle technologies. The study is based on the comparison of the energy and economic benefits in relation to the expected situation after a future expansion of the plant, in the same way the data collection of the consumption of steam and energy was done every hour 24 hours a day during a whole year of the textile silver, to be able to obtain the graphs of consumption demands of Electric and Thermal energy as well as to be able to visualize the maximum demand of consumption of the same during a whole year. Using the statistical data of the consumption of steam and electric energy per hour / day from the month of January to the month of December of 2012 in the company Textile “ARIS INDUSTRIAL“, using the basic software Excel 2010 was determined the Electric and thermal demand with their respective curves, these data being the tools used in our research work.
