Young Political Participation (PP) has been limited in a representative domain, and young Peruvians has been cataloged as disinterested and apolitical citizens, questioning their civic compromise to society. Thus, from psychosocial approach, the research seeks to (1)explore the typology, attributions and motivations of PP, and in the second study, (2) toanalyze the relationships between socio-cognitive factors (Political Knowledge, Political Interest, and Political Efficacy), attitudes (Political Trust and Political Cynism), and emotions linked to no-conventional PP in a sample of 18-25-year-old people of Lima, Peru. According to the data of 8 interviews, three main themes were identified: the concept of PP, the interpersonal and extrinsic motivations of PP, and the risks and limits of PP for young. In case of the second research, correlations, multiples regressions and path analysis were made to clarify their relationships of factors related to no conventional PP. Results suggested two typology of no-conventional PP: an contentious PP and civic-expressive PP, also both the political cynism and the political efficacy, mediated by political interest, has a clear effects on civic-expressive PP. Implications and importance of results were discussed in relation to human development, involvement and construction of citizenship among young Peruvians.
