The main objective of this study was to determine the relationship between addiction to social networks and academic procrastination in psychology students at a private university in Lima, Peru. The population was 1874 students through a census sample, non-experimental cross-sectional design and correlational scope. The instruments used were the academic procrastination scale (EPA) and the brief scale of addiction to social networks (ARS-6). The results showed that there is a direct and significant relationship between social network addiction and academic procrastination (rho = .489). In addition, social network addiction is directly and significantly related to procrastination, while inversely and significantly related to academic self-regulation. It is concluded that the greater the intensity of social network addiction, the greater the academic procrastination. Future studies with a larger sample size are recommended.
