Objective: to determine the ethnopharmacological study on medicinal plants used empirically for the treatment of digestive diseases in inhabitants of the district of Huasahuasi, Tarma- Junín, January-February 2024. Method: quantitative, non-experimental explanatory approach, defined as prospective and transversal, population of 9,901 inhabitants with permanent residence where a survey and questionnaire were carried out. Results:the most frequently used medicinal plant is "muña", 91.9% of the cases. The most frequently used parts are the leaf and the stem, 40.8% of its use. Regarding the influence of age on the knowledge of the adequate use of medicinal plants, most of the inhabitants have an intermediate level, 74.6%. This result did not show statistical significance, with a value of p=0.695 (p>0.05). Regarding the influence of work situation on the use of medicinal plants, the majority of respondents showed a high use of these plants, 85.0%. This finding also did not reach a significant level, with a value of p=0.058 (p>0.05). Conclusions: the most used medicinal plant was muña, the most used part was the leaf and stem, age does not influence with the knowledge about the proper use of medicinal plants and work situation is not a factor for not using medicinal plants.
