This thesis was carried out with the objective of developing a hydraulic project that would contribute to channel and make more efficient use of water resources. The Huaca Lezcano canal was selected, located in the district of Chicama, province of Ascope, department of La Libertad, which has deficiencies in its structure, as it lacks a lining to prevent water seepage along its course, resulting in water loss. To start the project, basic studies such as topography and soil mechanics were carried out. Regarding topography, instruments such as a differential GPS were used to obtain the characteristics of the canal, which covers a length of 4+400 km; this information was later used to carry out a new design. The data obtained from the topographic survey will be processed using Civil 3D 2023 software, which will result in the preparation of both longitudinal profile and floor plans. A design flow rate will be determined, taking into account the irrigation areas involved. During the hydraulic design stage, the ““Manual of design criteria for hydraulic works for the formulation of multisectoral hydraulic projects and water reinforcement““ published by the National Water Authority (ANA) will be used. This manual establishes the necessary requirements, such as minimum radii, types of sections and minimum slopes, according to the topography of the terrain. Once the results were obtained, the conclusions and recommendations of the project were formulated in order to help improve the efficient use of water in the Huaca Lezcano canal sector
