--- A descriptive study of the frequency of IgG antibodies was conducted anti-Toxocara canis detected by ELISA IgG in serum of patients from a medical center of San Martin de Porres during the period January to October 2014. The study group consisted 300 people (87 men and 213 women) of all ages. The frequency of anti- Toxocara canis, was 33.7%, the group most often children under 12 years. Of the patients with reactive test for IgG anti-Toxocara canis, 51% had a degree of 200, 33% had a degree of 400, 12% had 800 degree, 3% had title of 1600 and 1% had more title 3200. The association between Toxocara canis serology and the presence of dogs found to be significant (chi-square = 17.92; p <0.05). People who had contact with dogs found to have an almost 3 times more likely to have reactive serology, in relation to other people who had no contact with the anima (OR = 2.9). We conclude that toxocariosis is a common zoonosis in our country and that contact with dogs is one of the main factors contributing to the spread of this zoonosis.
