This project´s main topic is developing and presenting a proposal to improve efficiency in the production line of panettone molds in a Peruvian paper company. Engineering tools will be applied: Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), Line Balance and work standardization. Under the Lean Manufacturing methodology. These Lean tolos appliance will result in efficiency, availability and OEE of the mold line increase. Likewise, they are key to annul problema main caues: High set-up time and down times due to equipment downtime. The first chapter shows the sector global situation and the Peruvian sector. In addition, it presents the Lean Manufacturing methodology and tools. The second chapter explores low efficiency main causas, evidences impact. In the third chapter, the tolos are presented and developed. Finally, chapter 4 shows the results after implementation as well as its economic validation. At the end of the project, it is concluded that the application of SMED can reduce equipment set-up times. Line balance allows to redesign the flow to minimize down times due to machine stoppage. And standard work allows perfecting the new set up processes proposed with SMED. The sum of the 3 tools achieves the desired improvements.
