Abstract: Instagram es una red social que permite cargar fotos, editarlas y compartirlas con otros usuarios. Sin embargo, un uso excesivo de esta red puede generar insatisfacción hacia la imagen corporal. Esto es particularmente preocupante para el caso de las mujeres que invierten considerablemente más tiempo que los hombres en tomar y editar fotos de sí mismas (selfies) con el fin de presentar su mejor versión. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar la relación entre la adicción al Instagram y la insatisfacción corporal, en 194 mujeres universitarias residentes en Lima Metropolitana, con edades de 18 a 30 años (M = 20.7, DE = 2.49). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la Escala de Adicción al Instagram de Bergen (BIAS) y el Body Shape Questionnaire (BSQ). Los resultados evidencian que existe una relación significativa y positiva entre la adicción al Instagram y la insatisfacción corporal (r = .29, p < .001). En conclusión, las mujeres universitarias que tienen un mayor nivel de adicción al Instagram también presentan un mayor nivel de insatisfacción con la imagen corporal.
