Currently, the use of technology as a means of teaching during the pandemic has been a quickly accessible tool for students of different academic levels. However, it has been able to cause socialization problems mainly in infants, who were at the beginning of their social development. For this reason, the present investigation aims to characterize social skills from the perspective of parents or guardians in children from 3 to 5 years of age who receive classes in the virtual modality of educational institutions in Lima and Callao. The sample was 189 caregivers, who evaluated the minors, 113 female and 76 male. Regarding the type of school, 109 students are from public institutions and 80 from private institutions. Likewise, the design was of a descriptive, non-probabilistic cross-sectional type. In addition, the Abugattas Social Interaction Skills Test (2016) was applied. The results indicate that most of the participants were at a low level in the dimension "Skills to relate", while at a medium level in the other two dimensions ("Self-affirmation", "Expression of emotions"). In addition, significant differences were found according to educational management, in favor of public management, while no differences were found according to sex. It is concluded that, under the context of the pandemic and during virtual classes, in students from 3 to 5 years of age there is an alteration in the development of social skills.
