Some of the main problems in manufacturing companies are the high frequency of machine breakdowns and reprocessing, which affects the level of production efficiency of the company. In a metalworking company dedicated to the manufacture of axial fans, the main problem has been identified as the low efficiency of the production process, which is currently at 72%. Having as the main root causes of the aforementioned problems; the low availability of equipment (38%), reprocessing (33%) and the deformation of products (11%), this has resulted in an economic loss of S/. 180,000.00; This amount represents 7.5% of the billing for the year 2022. Given the consequences already detailed, the use of engineering tools is proposed to mitigate the problem, which are; Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP). Among the results obtained after the implementation of the tools, a reduction in manufacturing times of 17.69% and an annual reduction in manufacturing costs of S/. 62,249.60. In conclusion, after the implementation of the improvement tools, it has been possible to increase the time between equipment failures, reduce reprocessing times and improve the distribution of jobs.
