In the construction sector of developing countries, such as Peru, there is a lack of storm drainage infrastructure due to little investment from the public sector; storm drainage systems are designed in a traditional and unsustainable way. However, there is an opportunity to implement a new methodology that allows us to find an alternative solution since infrastructure works do not have the capacity to save the safety and integrity of the population. The sustainable urban drainage system, SUDS, comes as a new sustainable methodology in the construction industry in the hydraulic sector with the aim of achieving the longest useful life of the project because it improves the quality of life of the environment, it is also a alternative proposed as a mitigation and adaptation measure against the problems caused by climate changes and consequently natural phenomena. Due to this, this work makes an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of the use of SUDS in arid areas, in this case: city of Sullana; It is carried out through the analysis of a research where this type of tool is implemented, after conducting a survey of experts as it seeks to validate its technical feasibility from an economic perspective. As a final deliverable, a comparative table is developed in which the research of the SUDS is reflected for the management of future sustainable projects.
