The mining trend in Peru in the middle of the 21st century is to design and exploit open pit mines, since these present several advantages in profitability compared to underground mines. Especially in the initial investments, to start a mine operation with economic benefit since, they require a lower investment of capital and time. However, for all the initial benefits and savings, it becomes more difficult over time to keep important parameters under control, for example: the distribution of trucks to a loading front, queuing times at fronts, the cycle time carried out by the mining truck and the operational delays incurred during the hauling process. For this reason, mine management is beginning to take on greater importance and requires automated management systems that can give important information to mine dispatch in order to better manage fleets of mining trucks. This work focuses on the development of cycle time management during the hauling process, in the La Arena mining unit, which would improve operational management, without having to invest large amounts of money in a dedicated dispatch system. At the mine, a system has been generated and implemented with tablets and a Mesh network, which allows collecting and displaying information on various relevant indicators of the loading and hauling cycle. Although this system is not fully automated and does not have the capacity for automatic decision making like a dedicated “Dispatch” system, it still allows the mine dispatch center to have a more comprehensive view of mining operations to be able to make better decisions in particular whit the optimization of the hauling cycle.
