In Peru, agricultural production annually generates a large amount of waste materials such as rice husk ash, its production is ascending. These wastes generate environmental problems due to the disposal of these. In 2016, 3 million tons of rice husk were obtained. Of which in general terms are 100 thousand tons of rice husk ash by controlled burning. In addition, in the department of San Martin there is the presence of fine soils. The research consists of the proposal of an alternative for the stabilization of clayey soils using this miller's residue, rice husk ash, as a stabilizing agent to carry out engineering works. It began by obtaining samples in the city of Tarapoto in the jungle area of Peru. The combination of the soil obtained with different percentages of addition of rice husk ash in addition to lime, which is constant, was proposed. Different tests were carried out to determine physical, chemical and mechanical properties of the samples. The purpose of the mixtures is to improve the behavior and mechanical properties as well as being a solution to improve the bearing capacity of soils and mitigate the pollution problems they generate. Indeed, the studies showed a progress in its behavior and properties due to the pozzolanic reaction of the mixtures when adding RHA. As well as the increase of crystals in the microstructure of the clay analyzed by SEM images.
