In recent decades, a trend has grown for the consumption of healthy foods that are certified organic, being one of the main destinations for organic production the European Union. Also, through the use of Free Trade Agreements (FTA), this has become an opportunity for Peru to consolidate itself as an agro-exporting country and allow it to access new markets. Considering the case of the export of quinoa, this acted as an incentive for agro exporters because it allowed the elimination of tariff barriers. However, in turn, it led to the implementation of rules and regulations with high standards, with the aim that the consumer can receive a quality product. In this sense, the research aims to understand the effects of European regulations ((Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007), (Regulation (EC) No. 889/2008)) on organic certification in Peruvian exports of quinoa. within the framework of the Trade Agreement between Peru and the European Union (EU) during the period 2014 - 2019. A qualitative approach was used through grounded theory. For this purpose, 15 semi-structured interviews were carried out with professionals from the main companies in the agro-export sector of organic quinoa to the European Union, a representative of a certifying company and 4 representatives of the public sector and the agro-export community. In which the following categories were held: Food production, Protection of consumer interests, Prevention, Management, Control and Transparency of the Mutual Recognition Agreement.
