The constant emergence of streaming platforms has caused AVT to become more important and, within this field, the science fiction genre represents a challenge for translators who must take into account the visual channel, the audio track and the complex linguistic mechanisms of the genre during the translation process. In addition, the reception of an audiovisual product could be affected depending on the way in which the linguistic mechanisms that construct this genre are translated. Therefore, this research will analyze the influence of translation techniques on the reception of the dubbing and subtitling of the invented language and scientific neologisms found in the Rick and Morty series in the audience from Lima. For this purpose, a mixed methodology is proposed. For the quantitative stage, a survey will be made to a minimum of 100 Lima viewers between 18 and 35 years old who belong to the virtual communities of fans of the Rick and Morty series to gather information on their understanding and preferences regarding the dubbed and subtitled version of scenes of the series that contain scientific neologisms and invented language. Similarly, for the qualitative stage, two focus groups of approximately six people each will be carried out to obtain information about the comprehension and preferences in the audience from Lima regarding the dubbing or subtitling of scenes containing scientific neologisms or invented language present in the Rick and Morty series, which will allow us to deepen the data obtained in the survey.
