Day by day the business competitiveness presents new challenges, not only at the strategic and tactical level, but also at the operational level. Those challenges must be assumed and supported by an appropriate management guiding the processes of the Organization to attain its goals in order to deliver a quality product. One of the critical points is located in support provided by the information technologies (IT), because these are a fundamental part in pursuit of profitable investments. These are expected to achieve a level of maturity that demonstrates their alignment with the objectives of the Organization. This thesis will seek to position the IT area of a Company in the mining industry under a proposal for projects and requirements Demand Management. This proposal is based on a framework of reference seeking to include the IT governance as a part of an organizational culture that ensures the delivery of prioritized Quality Solutions, and making an optimal use of the IT resources. Throughout 7 chapters the identification of current gaps in the IT area has been explained, in order to propose practical and comprehensive solutions to resolve the need for improvements. This is based on a theoretical support and best practices. The implementation of the model estimates an annual saving of S/. 457.380,00. Additionally, in a future and in a next phase, it is expected to implement the model in other services provided by the area.
